Activities: Potala Palace, Jokhang Monastery, Barkhor Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Transportation: Van The first day of sightseeing starts from Lhasa’s prime landmark – Potala Palace (about 1 hour). This towering structure is a national icon which takes hours to fully explore by foot.
Some 2km to the east of the Potala is the most revered religious structure in Tibet – Jokhang Monastery (about 1.5-2 hours). Bustling with worshippers, a tour of Jokhang is a truly memorable experience. The quadrangle of streets surrounding the Jokhang is the Barkhor (about 1.5-2 hours)– known as both the spiritual heart of Lhasa and the main commercial district for Tibetans. Lhasa
Activities: Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Transportation: Van About 8km west of central Lhasa is the Drepung (about 1.5-2 hours), once the world’s largest monastery, containing about 10,000 monks. The day’s sightseeing begins with a tour of the white monastic buildings and halls. From the top of the hill, the group can pause to enjoy the breathtaking view of the city.
The other of Lhasa’s two great Gelugpa monasteries is Sera (about 1.5-2 hours). Around 5km north of central Lhasa, Sera may not be as grandiose as Drepung, but its serenity is a great relief from the bustle of this pilgrimage centre. Stay overnight in Lhasa. |

Lhasa - Yamdrok-tso - Shigatse
Activities: Yamdrok-tso, Gyantse Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Transportation: Van In the morning, you will begin a drive to Yamdrok-tso (about 30 minutes), one of Tibet’s three holy lakes, which is located just 110km outside of Lhasa. After about 3 1/2 hours of driving over thrilling mountain roads, including the snow pass of Kambala, you will enjoy an incredible view of the lake: a sparking turquoise before the huge peak of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang.
Leaving Yamdroktso is as spectacular as arriving, since you’ll cross the Karola, with its awesome roadside views of the Nojin Kangtsang Glacier.
After about 90km of outstanding views, the group arrives as Gyantse (about 30 minutes). There stands the 35m-high famous Kumbum. Packed with exquisite Tibetan sculpture and paintings, it is one of Tibet’s architectural wonders. Stay overnight in Shigatse. |

Shigatse - Lhasa
Activities: Tashilhunpo Monastery, Shigatse Old Town Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Transportation: Van The group heads to Tashilhunpo Monastery (about 1.5-2 hours)– monastery of magnificent tranquility, before heading to Shigatse Old Town (about 30 minutes). Here, exquisitely decorated Tibetan houses, markets and bazaars give a vivid picture of local culture. In the afternoon the group drives back Lhasa. Stay overnight in Lhasa. |

Hotel ratings are based on ratings from the China Tourism Bureau and our own facility evaluation. Hotel names listed above are subject to change, but star ratings are maintained
Itinerary schedule may be adjusted by your guide depending on local conditions (e.g. weather, transportation and so on)
Travelers to Tibet are required to get approval from his/her doctor's to make sure that he/she is fit to travel and his/her blood pressure and heart condition are normal. This is a necessary requirement because of the possible effects that the very high altitude may have.
We understand that you may have to cancel your trip to China, so our measures ensure that you may do this with the minimum amount of fuss. In the event of cancellation we will refund any payment made to China Spring Tours (less any cancellation fee that is applicable) within 14 working days of our receipt of your written cancellation request
The cancellation fee will be calculated as follows:
1) For cancellations made 15-25 working days prior to departure date: 10% of tour price will be assessed
2) For cancellations made 8-14 working days prior to departure date: 20% of tour price will be assessed
3) For cancellations made 3-7 working days prior to departure date: 30% of tour price will be assessed
4) For cancellations made 1-2 working days prior to departure date: 50% of tour price will be assessed
5) For cancellations made within 1 working day prior to departure date: 100% of tour price will be assessed
Potala Palace admits only 2000 people per day. The timetable may be adjusted to accommodate this
Payment:
1) Deposit:
a. If you book a tour 35 days in advance of the scheduled departure date, a deposit of 10% of the total tour cost is required
*Please note that this deposit will count toward the full payment
b. If you book a tour within 35 days before the scheduled departure date, payment in full is required
2) Final Payment:
a. If you book a tour 35 days in advance of the scheduled departure date, a deposit of 10% of the total tour cost is required and full payment should be made 25 days in advance of the scheduled departure date
*Please note that if the final payment is not received 25 days before the scheduled departure date, reservations will be cancelled and deposits will be forfeited.
b. If you book a tour within 35 days before the scheduled departure date payment in full is required
Children's price (The number of children on the tour can not exceed the number of adults who pay full price)
1) Children under 2 years old will be charged 10% of the total tour price
2) Children aged between 2 and 11 who occupy a hotel bed will be charged at 90% of the total tour price
3) Children aged between 2 and 11 who do not occupy a hotel bed will be charged at 75% of the total tour price
ChinaSpringTour will assist travelers in applying for a Tibet Entry Permit
1) The Tibet Entry Permit is a document that is required for all foreign nationals to enter Tibet Antonymous Regions. This must be pre-arranged before departure as it will be demanded when boarding the outbound flight
2) The permit application must be submitted to the relevant authorities at least two weeks before departure. As such, please submit the following documents to ChinaSpringTour staff at least THREE WEEKS before departure
a. A copy of applicant’s passport
b. A copy of applicant’s tourist visa for China
c. Full name, gender, date of birth, passport number, nationality and occupation of applicant
3) Additional requirements for applicants that hold a current F, Z or student visa in China:
Applicants that hold an F or Z visa for employment or placements in China are required to provide official Chinese-language certification. Students currently studying in China must submit a copy of their student card.
