The Great Wall is one of the architectural wonders of the world and has a history of over 2,000 years. It starts in the east at Shanhaiguan, crosses the rugged mountain ranges of Hebei Province, Beijing, Shanxi Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Shaanxi Province, and ends up at the Jiayuguan Pass in Gansu Province. Both Chinese and international visitors are deeply impressed by the Great Wall, and have made long journeys in order to climb the Great Wall. There is an old Chinese saying: “Those who have never been to the Great Wall will never be heroes.”
