Avoiding Seasickness
The symptoms of seasickness include dizziness, nausea, and vomiting, but may vary depending on each person’s physical conditions. If you have experiences seasickness in the past and feel that you are prone to suffering from it again, be sure to bring some medicine on the cruise as a preventative measure.
The best time to take the medicine is on an empty stomach, about 0.5-1 hour before departure. If it is a long journey, take the medicine every 4-6 hours so that it maintains effectiveness throughout the journey.
- The night before a long journey, make sure to get enough sleep.
- Please do not drink an excess of alcoholic beverages before travelling.
- In order to avoid vertigo, you may want to take some Dramamine or Stugeron about 30 minutes before you travel. However, please exercise caution, as many medicines have side effects. Please read the instructions carefully first.
- When transportation is moving, it is best not to read small-print newspapers or magazines or concentrate on the things near to you. If you are feeling dizzy or ill, lie down with your eyes closed and breathe slowly to calm your nerves.
- f someone close to you has the symptoms of seasickness, leave the scene immediately in case you are influenced.
