Samui overview

This beautiful island off the south east Thailand coast sways with acres of green palm trees.  Once a backpackers Mecca, it is now well on its way to becoming a fully-fledged tourist resort  Despite it's development, it is still fondly know to travelers as the ‘Coconut Island'

From the main town of Na Thon Hat, visitors to the island can venture out to the beaches of Chaweng and Hat Lamai at their leisure to enjoy the soothing waters of the Gulf of Thailand.

The best time to visit is during the hot, dry season between February and June, when it is possible to book a thatched cottage to laze in just yards away from the beach.  Travelers to the island can enjoy a mix of vibrant day and nightlife alongside a peaceful natural environment which supports local fisherman and a plethora of exotic bird species.

Away from the beach, Samui's central mountain range offers thrilling active pastimes for visitors.  Trails can be followed though endless coconut plantations, to the rocky foothills of Ko Samui.  For those less active adventurers, hire a moped or bicycle to explore the island at a rapid pace.  And if the expansive beaches and vast palms forest don't offer enough solitude, head to one of the many surrounding islands by hire boat to enjoy your own unique desert island experience.
