Passport and visa regulations

Although some nationalities are free to visit Nepal without a pre-arranged Visa, those departing from China are required to possess a Visa in order to exit the country. Tourist Visa's are granted for a maximum of five months per year.

Visas can be applied for at the Nepal embassy in Beijing, or the constulates in Shanghai, Hong Kong or Lhasa. Prices vary, though nationals of the following states are not required to pay any money.

Travel Documents in Nepal
The following documents should be carried while traveling in Nepal: -
A valid passport and Nepalese Visa
Documents certifying points of entry or exit
Disembarkation and embarkation forms
Certification of arrival and departure
Permits for trekking and mountaineering
Proof of address
Ticket for departure from Nepal
