About Spring Airlines
Established in 2005 by Spring Travel, China's number one domestic travel agency, Spring Airlines is the country's first low-fare airline. The new airline is based in Shanghai's Hongqiao Airport and also flies out of Pudong International Airport as well as Sanya's Fenghuang Airport. The airline currently owns eight high-tech, modern, and luxuriously comfortable Airbus A320 airplanes. With over 20 routes that include flights from Shanghai to Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Xiamen, Kunming, Haikou, Sanya, Guilin, Wenzhou, and Qingdao, Spring Airlines provides service that is safe, economical, on-time, convenient and comfortable.
Being the first to successfully establish the low-fare airline business model in China, Spring Airlines' motto is "Making flying affordable for everyone." By selling specially priced tickets costing 1CNY, 99CNY, 199CNY, and 299CNY Spring passes some of its profit to the consumer. In 2006, the average price of a Spring Airlines ticket was 36% lower than market price, which equated to an average savings of over CNY two billion for the flying public.
Spring Airlines is also the first airline in China to have designed and launched its own ticket sales system and its proprietary Departure Control System which allows fliers to conveniently order, choose their seats, pay, and check in from their home or office via the Internet or mobile phone.
